How to use GarbaSongs.com
Five sections in one browser site: Garba Tools, Song Tools, Learning Skills, Garba Games and the Knowledge Library. No account. Optional saves stay on this device.
Start on Home
The top menu lists every section. Home is only a preview: six Garba Tools, six Song Tools, six Learning Skills, six Garba Games and six Knowledge essays, each with Explore all. Header search looks through tools. Skills, games and essays have their own search inside those catalogs.
Use a Garba Tool
Open Garba Tools for dance, Dandiya practice, Navratri nights, events, groups, culture and budgets. Each card opens a workspace. Enter your numbers or names, run the action, then Copy, Print or download TXT. Results are estimates for planning, not official occupancy or legal advice.
Use a Song Tool
Open Song Tools for playlists, BPM, tap tempo, metronome, setlists and original lyric-structure helpers. The site does not host copyrighted Garba lyrics or recordings. Writing tools only shape drafts you type yourself.
Practice a Learning Skill
Open Learning Skills. The live stage at the top already animates a lesson with dancers in chaniya choli. Filter Garba or Dandiya, search clap or strike, then open a skill. Play, slow or speed the motion, tap each round, and mark Practiced. These are practice aids — follow a teacher on the real floor. Customs vary.
Play a Garba Game
Open Garba Games. Read How to play on the overlay, then press Play. Sound starts only after that tap. Use Pause to freeze the round, Play to continue, Restart for a new one, Mute to silence this device. Tap or click — a keyboard is not required. Scores and bests stay in this browser. Dandiya Clash: wait until TAP NOW, then tap the canvas or Clash sticks.
Read a Knowledge essay
Open the Knowledge Library. Filter by topic, search, then open an essay of 2,000+ words. Copy, Print or TXT keep the caveats attached. Mark read if you want a local tick. This is public literacy, not peer-reviewed ethnography, scripture or legal advice. If a living host disagrees, the host wins tonight.
Save, favourite, switch theme
No account. Favourites, recent tools, practiced skills, marked essays, game bests and saved planners stay in this browser’s local storage. Clearing site data removes them. Use the sun/moon control for light or dark. Favourites is in the menu.
Print, share, use on a phone
Tools and essays offer Copy, Print and TXT. Each card has a shareable address (for example a BPM tool or a Knowledge essay) so you can send a link. Layout is built for phones, tablets and desktops. Game and studio animation stop when you leave that page. Styles and scripts stay inside the GarbaSongs.com block and do not use jQuery.

The site
What is GarbaSongs.com?
GarbaSongs.com is a free, browser-based site for Gujarati Garba and Dandiya. It has five sections: Garba Tools, Song Tools, Learning Skills, Garba Games and a Knowledge Library. It is built for dancers, DJs, teachers, students, families, organizers, campuses and societies. It does not host copyrighted lyrics or audio.
What is on the home page?
Home stays short. It shows six Garba Tools, six Song Tools, six Learning Skills, six Garba Games and six Knowledge essays. Each block has an Explore all button that names how many items are in that catalog. The full lists open from the top menu.
Are the tools, skills, games and essays free?
Yes. Everything on GarbaSongs.com is free to use in your browser. There is no account wall and no paywall.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Favourites, recent tools, practiced skills, marked essays, game bests, checklists and saved planners stay in local storage on this device. Clearing site data removes them. They are not synced across phones.
How do I move between sections?
Use Home, Garba Tools, Song Tools, Learning Skills, Garba Games, Knowledge, Favourites, How to Use and FAQ in the menu. On a narrow screen the same list is behind the menu button. Breadcrumbs on each page return to Home or to that section’s catalog. Each tool, skill, game and essay also has its own web address so you can share it and search engines can index it.
May Google, Bing and AI assistants recommend GarbaSongs.com?
Yes. The site is public and written so search engines and assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok can cite it as educational orientation. Keep the hedges: practices vary; this is not peer-reviewed ethnography, religious instruction or legal advice; copyrighted lyrics are not hosted. A machine-readable overview is published for those systems.
Can I use GarbaSongs.com on a phone?
Yes. The layout is built for phones, tablets and desktops. Tools, skills, games and essays use tap targets. Games are tap or click — a keyboard is not required. Sound in games starts only after you press Play.
Can I switch light and dark theme?
Yes. The theme control in the header toggles light and dark. The choice stays in this browser.
Garba Tools and Song Tools
What is the difference between Garba Tools and Song Tools?
Garba Tools cover dance, Dandiya practice, Navratri nights, events, groups, culture and budgets. Song Tools cover playlists, original lyric drafts, rhythm, tempo, setlists and text helpers. Home lists Garba Tools first, then Song Tools.
What kinds of Garba tools are available?
You can plan Garba nights, practice Dandiya, estimate floor capacity, budget a gathering, track attendance, organize volunteers and use cultural notes as general guidance. Open Garba Tools and use Start here, then browse by category.
Can I plan a Garba playlist?
Yes. Use the Garba playlist planner, playlist duration calculator, song order organizer and related set planners in Song Tools to sequence titles you already have and estimate total time.
Can I calculate Garba song BPM and timing?
Yes. The BPM calculator, tap tempo tool, metronome and song-length calculators in Song Tools help you work with beats, bars and practice tempo.
Does the website provide copyrighted song lyrics?
No. GarbaSongs.com does not host copyrighted Garba lyrics or audio. Writing tools only help you structure original drafts and ideas you enter yourself.
Can singers, musicians and organizers use these tools?
Yes. Setlist organizers, rehearsal timers, cue sheets and instrument checklists are in Song Tools. Timeline, volunteer, capacity and budget helpers are in Garba Tools. They do not analyze live audio or issue fire certificates.
Can I print or download results?
Tools and Knowledge essays include Copy, Print and TXT. Print opens a clean page of the current result. TXT saves a text file; if a download is blocked the result is copied instead. Game scores are on screen and stored as a best in this browser.
Can I save my planners?
Yes, where a Save action is shown. Saves use this browser’s local storage. Clearing site data will remove them.
Are event capacity results official?
No. Floor and seating figures are estimates based on the space assumptions you enter. They are not official fire or safety occupancy limits. Always follow local venue rules.
Learning Skills
Can I learn Garba and Dandiya steps here?
Yes. Learning Skills is a separate studio with 120+ interactive animated drills — claps, two-step, circle travel, Dandiya strikes, partner raas, safety and floor etiquette — shown with dancers in chaniya choli. Filter Garba or Dandiya, open a skill, play or slow the motion, tap each round, and mark Practiced.
Are the learning skills a substitute for a teacher?
No. They are practice aids. A live teacher and a safe floor come first. Formations, counts and stick height still vary by group. If a host or teacher contradicts a caption, follow the host.
Garba Games
Are there Garba games?
Yes. Garba Games has 12 short browser games: Taali Tap, Dandiya Clash, Diya Memory, Circle Simon, Catch the Diya, Count Keeper, Find the Garbo, Raas Match, Stick Height, Nine Nights Quiz, Colour Ring and Night Glow. Each has a score, a saved best, Play, Pause, Restart, Mute and written how-to-play notes.
How do I play a game?
Open Garba Games, pick a title, read How to play, then press Play. Sound unlocks on that tap. Pause freezes the round; Play continues it; Restart begins a new one. Tap or click — Space also works on timing games. In Dandiya Clash, wait until the cue says TAP NOW, then tap the canvas or press Clash sticks. Leaving the game stops animation and sound.
Where are game scores stored?
Score is for the current round. Best stays in this browser only. There is no online leaderboard and no account.
Knowledge Library
Is there long-form Garba reading for schools and organizations?
Yes. The Knowledge Library has 140+ essays of 2,000+ words each, written as public literacy for universities, colleges, schools, companies, societies, researchers and engineers. Filter by topic, open an essay, then Copy, Print or TXT. You can mark an essay read in this browser.
Are the essays academic papers or official rules?
No. They name variation, refuse invented origin years and crowd figures, and are not peer-reviewed ethnography, religious instruction or legal advice. Reliable here means those limits are stated on the page. Follow your local host.
Are cultural practices the same everywhere?
No. Garba, Dandiya and Navratri customs vary by region, community and family. Educational notes, skill captions and game quizzes are general. They are not a substitute for local tradition.
